Opportunities in the Spanish football market in the short and medium term

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Further to your insistent petitions around the world here is our second 2011 report with a view to assist you during the current transfer window

The conclusions of the current report are fairly sound and worth-reading i.e.

  1. Humility is the queen of virtues.  This has been one of our leadership principles since our foundation in October 2008.  The humility of Mr. Villar (Spanish FA Chairman) and the national coach Vicente Del Bosque has been the key to Spain´s triumph in the World Cup.  Both of them have now attended and monitored the U-21´s team led by Milla (a former Barcelona and Madrid player)

  2. Without losing the humility perspective, it is fair to say that Spain´s double success in the Euro 2008 and the World Cup 2010 represents the birth of a new concept.  It is no longer football (i.e. long ball with the foot) but ballfoot (i.e. balompie as it is defined in Spanish which epitomizes the ball control and possession skills).  The performance of the Spanish U-21 team has confirmed it.

  3. The Bosman ruling created a new generation of players which still will excel out the current generation.  Thus for instance Xavi´s succession will come from Thiago.  However (as we first reported in October 2008) Rafa (the younger brother and second in the Mazinho dynasty) is the big jewel of Barcelona and Spain.  This is a never ending diamond land.

  4. Your task is to identify your jewels which are all ignored by lack of proper management at the Spanish Clubs.  As we said in January Adrian López, who almost signed for Wigan, is a shinning example of our assertion.  He is performing very well in the Euro 2011 U21 tournament.  He is a well known player to the eyes of Vicente Del Bosque and his team.  He has been international with all the big names of Spain.  Yet he was ignored by Deportivo La Coruna and the rest of the Spanish clubs for many years.

  5. As we reported for 6 times running, the Spanish economy is collapsing and will not come out of recession now until 2012, which, added to the bankruptcy of a number of football clubs, opens tremendous opportunities to buy even at zero cost

  6. Out of the 23 World Cup Winners we deem that the players listed below have to move around to keep their career in progress.  Please note that in January 2011 we literally stated that " Fernando Torres , centre-forward, he is known to be keen to move to either Chelsea or Manchester City.".

We proved to be accurate because we always cater for the player´s career progression.  We feel that the more progression the players have abroad, the highest chances of Vicente del Bosque assembling a much better team.

On this occasion we deem suitable to consider the following moves:

    - Capdevilla, the left back.  Villarreal will sell him for some 7 million Euros.

    - Raúl Albiol, the central defender.  The Spanish national coach has already voiced his concern with the situation of this player who is his natural replacement of Puyol in the squad.  Mourinho obviously prefers to line up his Portuguese duo (Pepe and Carvalho).  With the arrival of Varane from Lens (a Zidane´s protegé), Mr. Perez would be more than willing to listen to offers for Albiol.  A sum of 10 million Euros should trigger negotiations.

    - Cesc Fábregas, the playmaker.  We would recommend you to be alert.  The Catalans do not incur in lavish spending like Florentino Pérez.  We do not foresee easy negotiations between Barcelona and Arsenal.  Should they fail, we feel that Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are indeed plausible options for Cesc Fábregas to keep his place in the Spanish squad.  Under no circumstances Cesc Fábregas will never sign for Real Madrid.  His Catalan blood matters.

    - Javi Martinez, anchorman, sellable by Athletic Bilbao for some 18 million Euros.  His buy-out clause is 30 million Euros.  However as there will be a new elected president at the club early next month we estimate that 18 million suffices.  Javi Martinez would consider a move to clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and perhaps Liverpool.

    - Llorente, centre-forward, sellable by Athletic Bilbao for some 25 million Euros.  His buy-out clause is 36 million Euros.  We feel that here the player will be tempted to give runarounds during July hoping to bring Real Madrid´s attention.  There seems to be a gentlemen pact between Florentino Pérez and Garcia Makua the current incumbent.  Should Mr. García Makua get re-elected, it is very likely that he will sell Llorente and buy Aduriz from Valencia

    - Mata, forward, sellable by Valencia for some 18 million Euros.  This is the estimated offer from Barcelona

    - Navas, right winger, sellable by Seville for some 35 million Euros.

  7. Out of the second block of 23 players also monitored by Del Bosque the following players can be sold

-Marcos Senna, anchorman, from Villarreal.  As we reported last January he is now a free agent.

    - Dani Güiza, centre forward, from Fenerbahce.  He is unsettled in Turkey.  The Turks have dropped their asking price to circa 3 million Euros.  He is a World-Class striker

    - Javi Garcia, anchorman, from Benfica Lisbon.  He is a player from the Real Madrid academy.  Del Bosque knows him very well.  Benfica might sell him for circa 5 million Euros.

    - Goyo Monreal, left back from Osasuna, a very lowly ranked club.  Monreal is to overtake Capdevila´s post shortly in the national squad.  We said that Osasuna´s asking price would be within the region of 6 million Euros.  Subsequently he has been sold to Málaga

    - Joaquin, the right winger from Valencia.  Pablo Hernandez is the club´s first choice therefore the economic´s woes of Valencia will force the club to sell Joaquin for a reasonable amount between 5 to 7 million Euros.  Subsequently he has been sold to Málaga

With regards to the Under 21 squad, the following players will make a career move:

-De Gea, the Atlético Madrid goalkeeper is a sure move to the Premier League.  Having appointed a top-notch agent we have no doubts he wants to play for a top 4 club in the Premier League

-Botia, the central defender.  Top class from the Barcelona academy.  He is currently playing for lowly ranked Sporting Gijón who would sell at some 7 million Euros.  The player would fit into any of the top 8 clubs in the Premier League.

- Ruben Perez, the midfielder from Deportivo who have been relegated.  Offers within the range of 5 million Euros should trigger negotiations.

- Diego Capel, Seville´s winger.  8 million Euros should open the negotiations.  The player has long declared his admiration for English football.

- Bojan Krkic, the Barcelona striker.  Please note that we brought up his name already in our reports of October 2008.  Bojan is a World Class player.  Those clubs with business savvy have a long term star in Bojan.  Barcelona would sell for some 10 million Euros.

- Adrian López, the diamond of the U-21 squad.  We estimate Deportivo would sell for 6 million.  It is not clear that he is owned by Atlético Madrid yet.  Lendoiro would always sell to a UK´s top bidder.

- Nsue, the striker from Majorca.  We feel an offer of 3 million Euros should suffice for this player.
